Sports (Youth & Adult)

The Department of Parks, Recreation & Arts offers sports leagues and programs for adults and youth. In addition, there are opportunities to get involved in a number of sports clubs and programs, including East Lansing Soccer Club, Track Club, Basketball Club,Girls Youth Softball, Jr. Trojan Football and more.

Youth Sports

Youth Recreation Basketball
Girls and boys leagues: Grades 2-6.

Practices begin the week of Dec. 2 and games begin January 11, 2020.

Youth Volleyball Clinic
Registration deadline: January 10, 2020. View the registration form (PDF).
The clinic begins Tuesday, Jan. 14 from 6:30-8 p.m. and will run for six weeks. It will take place at the MacDonald Middle School East Gym.

Jr. Trojan Swimming

The program provides recreational swimming opportunities for elementary-age through high school students. This is a great way to improve on their skills and have fun in a team atmosphere. Swimmers must have completed all six levels of the learn-to-swim program and have the ability to swim continuously for 200 yards. For more information, please email Coach Laura or Coach Ron at
