I received a meter violation over the weekend. How can I pay it?: To pay a meter violation issued over a weekend at the reduced rate, you can either place a check or cash in one of the 24-hour drop boxes or pay at the 54-B District Court, Linden St.,by 4:30 p.m. the following business day. Or call the Parking Division at (517) 351-7022 and pay over the phone with a Visa or Master Card.

1. I was given permission by the East Lansing Police Department to park on the street overnight and I still received a ticket. What should I do?: Contact East Lansing Parking and Code Enforcement (PACE) at (517) 319-6894. Someone in PACE will verify that permission was granted to park and then he/she will file a motion to dismiss the citation.

2. I never saw a ticket on my car, but I'd like to know if I can just pay the ticket over the phone. Whom can I call?: You may call the Parking Division, with your license number, at (517) 351-7022 Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. - noon and 1 - 4:30 pm.

You may alsopay online. You will need your license plate number.

3. My ticket was sustained at MSU. What is my next step for appeal?: You may appeal your MSU ticket further at the 54B District Court. You must complete the Request Informal Hearing form (PDF) and bring it in person to the 54-B District Court, 101 Linden Street, mail it or place in one of the 24-hour drop boxes. Be sure to include the original ticket, or copy of the ticket, and your full mailing address with the form.

4. I received notice that I have a license hold, but don’t know what this is for. How can I find out?: A license hold is placed for three or more outstanding parking tickets or for two or more handicap space violations. This hold is on your drivers license and will not be released until all fines/costs/and the $45 reinstatement fee is paid. Contact the Parking Division to obtain total. Or search by name under the court case inquiry.

5. I would like a court date. How can I get one?: You can fill out the Request Informal Hearing form (PDF) and bring it in person to the 54-B District Court, 101 Linden Street, mail it or place in one of the 24-hour drop boxes. Be sure to include the original ticket, or copy of the ticket, and your full mailing address.

You may: (1) put payment in one of the 24-hour drop boxes, (2) bring it in person to the 54B District Court, 101 Linden St., from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. or (3) call the Parking Division at (517) 351-7022 to pay over the phone.

8. I just got my ticket today, and would like to pay it. How can I do so?: Tickets are not on the system until the following business day. If you’d like to pay same day, you can either bring it in person to the 54-B District Court, 101 Linden Street, from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. or place in one of the 24-hour drop boxes.
