[ARCHIVED] 2nd Annual East Lansing Robotics Fest to Take Place Sunday, Sept. 16

EAST LANSING, Mich. – The 2nd Annual East Lansing Robotics Fest will take place Sunday, Sept. 16 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. in Valley Court Park, 280 Valley Court. The event is free and open to the public.

During the festival, school-aged children and teens (grades 1-12) are invited to partner with hosts from the MSU College of Engineering, Information Technology Empowerment Center (ITEC) and the East Lansing Public Library to build robots. The event will also feature MSU's autonomous vehicle, bottle cap rockets and robotics fish. The event is being funded through a generous grant provided by the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission.

“We invite all children, young adults and parents to come take a stroll and see what the incredible world of engineering has to offer,” said East Lansing Community Development & Engagement Manager Amy Schlusler-Schmitt. “Last year’s inaugural event proved to be extremely popular and we’re hoping for the same great community turnout this year.”

Pre-registration for the event is encouraged, but not required. Registration will be available the day of the event. To pre-register, visit https://www.eventbrite.com/e/robotics-festival-tickets-49178135126.

Similar to last year, the Robotics Fest is being held in conjunction with the East Lansing Farmers Market, which takes place every Sunday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in Valley Court Park through the end of October.
