EAST LANSING, Mich. — Beginning this Friday, April 14, Harrison Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Kalamazoo Street and Michigan Avenue.
Traffic shifts will be in place to accommodate the lane reductions and, at this point, the work is expected to be completed within approximately one to two weeks. In addition to the lane reductions, both northbound and southbound left turns will be restricted within the construction zone.
Although through traffic will continue to be accommodated, an alternate route will be posted for Harrison Road traffic to direct motorists around the construction zone in anticipation of the congestion that may occur. The alternate route will be signed using Kalamazoo Street, Clippert Street and Michigan Avenue.
The entrance to the Kellogg Center parking ramp off Harrison Road will also be closed, with ramp traffic rerouted to the east parking structure entrance off Kalamazoo Street.
The signalized pedestrian crossing between the Kellogg Center and the Brody Residential Complex will remain open. Motorists should exercise caution and watch for pedestrians in that area.
