[ARCHIVED] Drain Maintenance Work to Cause Intermittent Closures on Northern Tier Trail

EAST LANSING, Mich. – The City of East Lansing will be performing drain maintenance work along the Friegal and Taylor Drains within the city limits over the next few weeks. View map (PDF). Work is expected to begin as early as this Friday, March 10.

This work will involve the removal of trees and brush within the drain ditches to remove obstructions that catch debris and restrict the flow of water. Much of the work is adjacent to East Lansing’s Northern Tier Trail and will require portions of the trail to be closed intermittently as the work proceeds in order to safeguard the public from equipment and debris. Community members are encouraged to be aware and watch for signs and staff who may be directing trail users around the work area.

Community members with questions can contact the East Lansing Department of Public Works at (517) 337-9459.
