EAST LANSING, Mich. — A Downtown Welcome Dance, featuring DJ Black Magic and DJ TONE DC, will take place on Saturday, Sept. 10 from 7-11:30 p.m. in downtown East Lansing’s Ann Street Plaza. It’s free!
The dance serves to welcome new and returning Michigan State University students to the East Lansing-MSU community. All community members are welcome to attend.
“We are excited to host this new welcome event for students and residents,” said East Lansing City Councilmember Susan W. Woods. “We hope everyone in the community will come downtown and enjoy a fun evening of music and dancing.”
Community members are advised that Albert Avenue, between M.A.C. Avenue and Grove Street, will be closed to traffic from 6 p.m.-midnight on Saturday, Sept. 10 to accommodate this event.
Ann Street Plaza is located at the corner of Albert Avenue and M.A.C. Avenue in downtown East Lansing. Event sponsors include the City of East Lansing, the East Lansing Downtown Management Board, the East Lansing Downtown Development Authority, Associated Students of Michigan State University (ASMSU), Great Clips, Community Resource Management Company, Splash of Color Tattoo and Piercing Studio, The Peanut Barrel, Student Book Store East Lansing, Campus Corner, the East Lansing Film Festival, DTN Management and My Apartment Place.
