[ARCHIVED] City of East Lansing Offers Action-Packed Week of Events

EAST LANSING, Mich. — Community members can enjoy an action-packed lineup of events the week of July 11 as part of the City of East Lansing’s ongoing Community Events program. All events are FREE!

Play in the Park – Storytelling with Karen Czarnik
Play in the Park, an interactive children’s entertainment series, is hosted on Tuesdays in July at 7 p.m. in Valley Court Park, 280 Valley Court. On Tuesday, July 12, creative storyteller Karen Czarnik will entertain the crowd with a fun collection of stories and songs. Moonlight Film Festival – ELPD K9 Unit Demonstration & “Max”
The Moonlight Film Festival features movies shown on a big outdoor screen in Valley Court Park, 280 Valley Court, on Thursday nights in July (9:30 p.m.) and August (9 p.m.). New this year, there are activities prior to showtimes that tie into the themes of the movies. On Thursday, July 14, the Moonlight Film Festival will feature “Max,” rated PG, at 9:30 p.m. Prior to the film, at 8:30 p.m., there will be an East Lansing Police Department K9 Unit Demonstration. Summer Concert Series – Heartland Klezmorim, Kathleen & the Bridge Street Band
The East Lansing Summer Concert Series features six weekends of live music on Fridays and Saturday at 7 p.m. in downtown East Lansing’s Ann Street Plaza (corner of Albert and M.A.C. avenues). The Summer Concert Series will feature Heartland Klezmorim on Friday, July 15 and Kathleen & the Bridge Street Band on Saturday, July 16.
