EAST LANSING, Mich. — Local children in the East Lansing community are invited to play basketball with the East Lansing Police Department’s (ELPD) Police Athletic League (PAL) this April at the East Lansing Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbot Road.
PAL is a recreation-oriented juvenile crime prevention program that relies heavily on athletics and recreational activities to tighten the bond between police officers and youth in the community. The PAL program is a nonprofit and is funded through donations and fundraisers.
The program will be offered to children in grades K-2 on Monday, April 11; Monday, April 18; and Monday, April 25 from 6-7 p.m. The program will be offered to children in grades 3-4 on Wednesday, April 13; Wednesday, April 20; and Wednesday, April 27 from 6-7 p.m. There is no cost to play and families can register their children at the door.
