[ARCHIVED] Freezing Rain and Icy Conditions in the Forecast for Monday, Dec. 28

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Freezing rain and icy conditions are in the weather forecast for mid-Michigan tomorrow, Dec. 28.

The City of East Lansing will have snow/ice removal crews on hand throughout the day and night to address winter road conditions that may develop. Community members are advised to plan accordingly and limit travel if road conditions become dangerous.

The Lansing Board of Water & Light (BWL) is aware of the forecast and has additional line and tree crews on standby to quickly restore power should outages occur. BWL customers can report power outages by calling 877-295-5001, visiting the BWL Outage Center at, through the BWL Outage Center mobile app or by texting "out" or "outage" to 898295 or txtbwl. To report a downed power line, call 877-295-5001.

In the event of downed power lines, stay at least 25 feet away.

The City of East Lansing will be monitoring conditions and will work in coordination with the City of Lansing and BWL should activation of an Emergency Operations Center become necessary.
