[ARCHIVED] East Lansing Farmer’s Market Autumn Fest and Cart Bash to Take Place Oct. 4

EAST LANSING, Mich. – The East Lansing Farmer’s Market (ELFM) will celebrate the splendor of fall with its annual Autumn Fest event on Sunday, Oct. 4 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in Valley Court Park, 280 Valley Court. It’s free.

Autumn Fest will feature a full assortment of seasonal Michigan produce and products, free cider and donuts, wagon rides, a bonfire, live music and a Cart Bash. In addition, pumpkin painting and fall-themed crafts and games will be sponsored by the Community Relations Coalition and the East Lansing Public Library. Live music performances will include Cuatro Sur from 10 a.m.-noon and Rob Klajda from noon-2 p.m.

Cart Bash
In celebration of East Lansing’s new recycling cart program, Amcor, The Recycling Partnership and the City of East Lansing will host a Cart Bash in conjunction with ELFM’s Autumn Fest. The event will feature recycling information, a variety of recycling cart games, recycling freebies (including superhero recycling capes), FREE kettle corn and more. The event will also include an up-close look at East Lansing’s new hydraulic hybrid recycling truck, which features a truck wrap design chosen by the East Lansing community.

The East Lansing Farmer's Market, a growers-only market, is located in an inviting, open-air atmosphere, just steps away from the Michigan State University campus. Customers can fill their shopping bags with fresh, farm-grown Michigan produce and products, including fresh fruits and vegetables, grass-fed beef, artisan bread, cheese, all-natural chicken, organic produce and much more. The 2015 season will continue on Sundays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. through October 25.
