EAST LANSING, Mich. — The City of East Lansing is now accepting applications for its Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program funding. The deadline to apply is December 15, 2023 at 5 p.m.
The FY 2025 program encompasses CDBG funding that would be provided for activities undertaken between July 1, 2024-June 30, 2025. The application and resource guide are available at www.cityofeastlansing.com/cdbg.
Prospective applicants with questions about the application process or in need of technical support can attend virtual office hours with City staff on the following dates and times:
- Monday, Nov. 13: 3-4 p.m.
- Wednesday, Nov. 15: 10-11 a.m.
- Wednesday, Nov. 29: 10-11 a.m.
- Tuesday, Dec. 5: 9-10 a.m.
- Thursday, Dec. 7: 4-5 p.m.
- Tuesday, Dec. 12: 4-5 p.m.
- Thursday, Dec. 14: 9-10 a.m.

Eligible applicants include, but are not limited to, private/public nonprofits, community-based organizations, local public agencies as well as certain microenterprises and other private entities with activities that meet eligibility requirements and national objectives established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
According to HUD, the primary objective of the CDBG program is to provide for “the development of viable communities by the provision of decent housing, a suitable living environment and expanding economic opportunities, principally for persons of low and moderate income.”
