EAST LANSING, Mich. — Community members are reminded of the annual Great Pumpkin Walk, a family-friendly trick-or-treating event, that will take place on Sunday, Oct. 29 from 1-4 p.m. More than 25 businesses will serve as trick-or-treating stations in the downtown area.

The East Lansing Farmers Market (ELFM), 280 Valley Court Park, will kick off the spooky fun by hosting a Halloween costume and cosplay contest. Participants must register at the ELFM information booth by 12:45 p.m. Winners will be announced at 1:30 p.m. and must be present to collect their prize. The ELFM runs from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Sundays from June through the end of October.

Other activities included in this year’s Great Pumpkin Walk are the following:

  • Free pumpkins, while supplies last, and pumpkin decorating stations in William B. Sharp Park at the corner of Abbot Road and Albert Avenue or in the 500-block pedestrian alleyway
  • Photos with princesses from Royal Encounters MSU in Ann Street Plaza
  • Live music by funk band Carlos Perez and the Spooktaculars in Ann Street Plaza located at the corner of Albert and M.A.C. avenues from 1:30-3 p.m.
  • A Cyr wheel performance on the elevated Marriott Plaza at the corner of Albert Avenue and Charles Street
  • For the 12th year, Wild Goose Inn, 512 Albert Ave. will transform into the Land of Oz from 2-4 p.m.
