EAST LANSING, Mich. — The City of East Lansing is seeking at-large applicants for its University Student Commission.
Members of the University Student Commission propose programs and policies for consideration by the East Lansing City Council. The purpose of the commission is to improve relations between Michigan State University students and the community, establishing formal channels of communication between the two. Commissioners also review issues that have the potential to affect the interests of the university student population.
The University Student Commission consists of 11 members who serve one-year terms. The commission meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month from October through April at East Lansing City Hall, 410 Abbot Road. The first meeting of the new term will be held at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17.
