EAST LANSING, Mich. — East Lansing’s 54-B District Court Chief Judge Molly Hennessey Greenwalt has announced that the court will be closed to the public on Thursday, Aug. 10 and Friday, Aug. 11.
The court closure is due to a requirement by the Michigan Supreme Court that local courts conduct a physical case inventory each year.
Court offices will not be open for walk-in arraignments or payments on Aug. 10 or Aug. 11. However, previously scheduled courtroom activity, including felony preliminary exams, may be conducted. Defendants and witnesses should report directly to the appropriate courtroom.
Drop boxes are available at the East Lansing Police desk, 409 Park Lane, and in the City Hall north parking lot, 410 Abbot Road, for those who are submitting filings or making payments. Payments can also be made online at www.54bDistrictCourt.com.
