EAST LANSING, Mich. — Community members are invited to attend an Open House hosted by the East Lansing Police Department (ELPD) on Saturday, July 22.
The ELPD Open House will be held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the East Lansing police station, 409 Park Lane.
Attendees at this year’s open house event will be able to go on a tour of the police station, meet a K-9 officer and sit inside a patrol car. The ELPD will also be performing car seat inspections and offering children’s fingerprinting services. There will be crime scene investigation (CSI) demonstrations, food, giveaways and much more. Additionally, the ELPD will be collecting new books for infants, toddlers and preschool-aged children.
“We are excited to once again welcome community members to this year’s open house. It’s nice for those of us in the department to meet the community we serve. It’s also an opportunity for community members to learn more about what your police officers do each day. Plus, it’s a lot of fun,” East Lansing Police Chief Kim Johnson said.
The event is free to attend. For information about parking, visit the parking section of the City’s website at www.cityofeastlansing.com/parking.
