EAST LANSING, Mich. — The City of East Lansing’s Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is pleased to announce the grand reopening of Albert EL Fresco on Thursday, May 11, from 5-9 p.m.

Albert EL Fresco is located on Albert Avenue, between Abbot Road and M.A.C. Avenue. The area is designed to be pedestrian-friendly, without sacrificing parking. All downtown parking garages will remain open during Albert EL Fresco. For more information on parking downtown, including a live look at how many spots are available, visit www.cityofeastlansing.com/parkingdowntown.

The Albert EL Fresco grand reopening event will include a variety of games and activities. In addition to ping-pong, cornhole and Giant Chess, an inflatable free-throw basketball game has been added this year.

The grand reopening event will also include live music performances. Acoustic artist Mark Collins will perform at 5:30 p.m. and Detroit-based pop/rap artist BE SEAN will perform at 7 p.m.

Additionally, the East Lansing Public Library’s Library on the Go, a mobile pop-up library, will be parked at Albert EL Fresco from 5-7 p.m.

Community members are advised that the portion of Albert Avenue comprising Albert EL Fresco will be closed to traffic beginning Monday, May 8 to accommodate setup of the space.

The Albert EL Fresco grand reopening event on May 11 is just the beginning of a fun-filled summer in downtown East Lansing. Throughout the summer, community members will be able to enjoy the area’s outdoor seating and tables, shade amenities, hammocks, decorative lighting and outdoor games. A variety of programs will also be hosted throughout the summer at Albert EL Fresco, including game nights, outdoor yoga, live music and more.

Visit www.cityofeastlansing.com/AlbertELFresco for more information and for the latest announcements regarding Albert EL Fresco events and programming.
