EAST LANSING, Mich. — Community members are invited to the 2015 Summer Splash, a poolside celebration that will come alive at the East Lansing Family Aquatic Center, 6400 Abbot Road, on Wednesday, July 29.
This popular community event will take place from noon-6 p.m. and will feature everything from the famous Summer Splash belly flop contest to a biggest splash contest, children’s games, a balloon toss, relay races, sidewalk chalk, a sand castle building contest and more. Other highlights of the 2015 event will include door prizes, music by a local DJ and a cake-cutting ceremony with East Lansing Mayor Nathan Triplett at 1:30 p.m.
The 2015 Summer Splash celebrates the 15th summer of interactive, water-play fun at the East Lansing Family Aquatic Center. Officially opening its gates in 2001, the Aquatic Center has served an average of 55,000 visitors per year since its inception.
“We hope our regular patrons, as well as new visitors, will join us for this popular annual poolside celebration,” said Aquatics/Athletics Coordinator Jim Jennings.
