EAST LANSING, Mich. — Community members are advised that a Northern Tier Trail relocation project will begin the week of July 25 in the City of East Lansing.
The project will involve removing and relocating a section of the trail, located between the East Lansing Soccer Complex and Abbey Road bridge (view site plan). The project will increase user safety by moving the trail in that area away from the Sanderson Drain.
The project is expected to begin by the middle of the week (the week of July 25) and is slated for completion by approximately Friday, Aug. 19, weather permitting. During the work, the section of trail where construction is taking place will be closed for the safety of trail users and security of the construction site. Trail users will be detoured around the project site and are encouraged to pay attention to the barricades and signs that will be in place (view detour map).
The community’s patience is appreciated during this important work. Funding for this trail improvement project has been provided by the Ingham County Trails and Parks Millage.
