EAST LANSING, Mich. — The East Lansing Independent Police Oversight Commission (ELIPOC) will be holding a special meeting tonight, April 28 to hear a briefing from East Lansing Police Chief Kim Johnson on an officer-involved shooting that occurred on Monday, April 25 at 1350 W. Lake Lansing Road in East Lansing.
At the meeting, Chief Johnson will read some prepared remarks and discuss with the Commission the process moving forward, including the potential release of the video at a future press conference. As this is an ongoing investigation, Chief Johnson will not be able to discuss the details of the case or answer questions related to the details of the case. A Commission discussion will follow Chief Johnson’s remarks.
