EAST LANSING, Mich. — Students and teachers from area East Lansing Schools, in partnership with the East Lansing Downtown Development Authority (DDA), are bringing a K-12 Art Show to participating downtown East Lansing businesses beginning Saturday, April 23.
The art show will feature approximately 350 pieces by students from East Lansing High School, MacDonald Middle School, Robert L. Green Elementary School, Donley Elementary School, Red Cedar Elementary School, Marble Elementary School, Glencairn Elementary School, Whitehills Elementary School, St. Thomas Aquinas Parish School and Stepping Stones Montessori.
“The DDA is giving students a chance to feel seen and heard in their community and there is no greater gift to a young artist than that,” said East Lansing High School Art Teacher Jacqueline Carroll. “We art teachers are so grateful!”
The artwork will be displayed from April 23-June 4 at 21 participating businesses. A list of participating businesses is available online at https://cityofeastlansing.com/2281/K-12-Downtown-Art-Show.
Community members are encouraged to visit downtown East Lansing to check out the artwork and consider shopping local at host businesses.
The K-12 Art Show was made possible by the DDA, Parent Councils of East Lansing Public Schools, Stepping Stones Montessori and a private donor from St. Thomas Aquinas Parish School.
