[ARCHIVED] ELPL to Host Books, Basket & Bids Online Fundraiser April 18-25

EAST LANSING, Mich. — In lieu of the annual in-person Books, Bites & Bids event, the East Lansing Public Library (ELPL) will be hosting an online fundraiser, titled Books, Baskets & Bids, from April 18-25.

Books, Baskets and Bids invites community members to participate in an online auction and bid on more than 70 gift baskets that have been donated by local businesses, organizations and patrons. A wide assortment of items will be available in the baskets, including gift certificates to restaurants, passes to the East Lansing Family Aquatic Center, theater tickets and more.

“It’s always humbling to see the outpouring of support to the library every year for our silent auction. We are truly grateful to all the businesses and community members who have donated incredible auction items and we are so very thankful to our patrons for participating and helping us meet our fundraising goals,” said ELPL Director Kristin Shelley. “We have wonderful baskets to bid on this year and there’s something for all ages and interests. We encourage everyone to check it out!”

The online auction will take place at www.32auctions.com/elpl and participants will need to create an account to place a bid. The auction will open at 7 a.m. on Monday, April 18 and bids can be submitted 24/7 during the week-long event. The auction will close at noon on Monday, April 25. The highest bidders can then pick up their items at ELPL’s Circulation Desk, 950 Abbot Road.

Community members can preview the items for auction at the following link: https://www.32auctions.com/organizations/96451/auctions/122392?r=1&t=all. New auction items will be added daily leading up to the event and a full list of items will be available at the start of the auction.

ELPL will also be featuring auction items on its Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts leading up to the event.

All proceeds raised during Books, Baskets & Bids will go towards purchasing various tools that will enhance programming for all age levels, including a Tovertafel Magic Table.
