[ARCHIVED] ELPD to Host Meet & Greets for Residents and Neighborhood Sector Officers

police

EAST LANSING, Mich. — The East Lansing Police Department (ELPD) will be hosting a series of Meet & Greets on a quarterly basis to provide community members with an opportunity to meet with their neighborhood sector officers in an informal setting.

As a part of ELPD’s Sector Officer Program, ELPD partners with residents to foster mutually beneficial relationships between community members and police, while also creating opportunities for proactive community engagement through meetings, events and other community policing efforts. ELPD officers serve five sectors of the community, with each sector led by a sergeant and a team of neighborhood sector officers who are responsible for working with the districts/neighborhoods.

Throughout the month of March, community members will have the opportunity to meet with the ELPD officer(s) assigned to their neighborhood to ask questions and discuss neighborhood safety. The Meet & Greets are open to all community members and community members aren’t limited to attending their sector’s event.

Dates, times and locations for upcoming Meet & Greets are provided below:

Sector 2
Sunday, March 13 at 4 p.m. – Foster Coffee Company, 196 Albert Ave

Sector 3
Monday, March 21 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. – Biggby Coffee, 1429 W. Saginaw Highway
