EAST LANSING, Mich. — Community members are advised that East Lansing City Hall and the East Lansing Department of Public Works (DPW) will be closing early today, Feb. 2 at 4 p.m. due to the winter storm.
Community members are also reminded of these closures:
- The East Lansing Public Library and East Lansing Prime Time are closed today.
- The East Lansing Hannah Community Center closed early at noon.
- The East Lansing 54B District Court is closed to the public and is operating remotely today. Scheduled court hearings will continue remotely and the public can reach the court through its Virtual Counter on Zoom using Meeting ID 749 617 6888 or clicking this link: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/7496176888.
East Lansing DPW snow removal operations have been ongoing since 4:30 a.m. this morning and are expected to continue overnight and into tomorrow. Street crews have been focusing on keeping major streets and intersections where local streets intersect with major streets open and passable. It is expected that crews will transition to local streets early tomorrow morning, with some passes on local streets possible late today or overnight. Avoiding unnecessary travel is advised and those that do need to travel should exercise caution and drive for the conditions.
