[ARCHIVED] City of East Lansing Seeks Nominations for 2022 Crystal Awards


EAST LANSING, Mich. — The City of East Lansing is currently seeking nominations for the 2022 Crystal Awards – an annual event hosted by the East Lansing City Council that serves to honor individuals, businesses, professionals, nonprofits and/or community groups that have made an outstanding contribution to community life in East Lansing.

Community members are encouraged to help honor East Lansing’s unsung heroes by submitting nominations for deserving candidates by the nomination deadline: April 7, 2022. Community members can find an online nomination form, eligibility criteria and a list of past recipients at Paper copies of the nomination form are also available at East Lansing City Hall, 410 Abbot Road; the East Lansing Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbot Road; and the East Lansing Public Library, 950 Abbot Road. To request a mailed nomination form, community members can email Karla Forrest-Hewitt at

All nominations will be reviewed by a community selection committee and four recipients will be chosen. The selected recipients will be honored at a community reception on June 16, 2022 at 5 p.m. at the East Lansing Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbot Road. The public are invited to attend this free community event, but will be required to RSVP. RSVP details will be provided closer to the date of the event.
