Due to the continued, significant spread of COVID-19 in Ingham County, the decision has been made to extend the cancellation of public meetings for the City of East Lansing’s boards and commissions through Friday, Feb. 11. Previously, these public meetings had been canceled through the end of January.
East Lansing City Council meetings will continue to be held in person at the East Lansing Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbot Road; however, community members are encouraged to take advantage of virtual options for viewing and participating in these public meetings.
Community members can view a livestream and recording of the East Lansing City Council meetings via the City’s public meeting portal, https://cityofeastlansing.civicweb.net/Portal/, and via East Lansing Community Television, WELG (Channel 22): https://www.cityofeastlansing.com/174/Government-TV-Ch-22. Community members can also email Council or call in to the meeting to make public comment. Public comment instructions are posted at the top of each meeting agenda at https://cityofeastlansing.civicweb.net/Portal/MeetingTypeList.aspx. If planning to attend the meetings in person, community members are reminded that masks are required.
The authority for Michigan public bodies to hold electronic “virtual” meetings under a declared local state of emergency expired at the end of 2021.
