EAST LANSING, Mich. — Due to the late leaf drop this year, the East Lansing Department of Public Works (DPW) is extending fall bulk leaf collection on the City of East Lansing’s east side, with a fourth week of collection scheduled for the week of Nov. 29.
Additionally, East Lansing residents are reminded that it was announced last week that collection has been extended on the west side, with a fourth week of collection scheduled for the week of Nov. 22. All extensions are weather permitting.
The east side includes the east City limits at Park Lake Road to Abbot Road. The west side includes the west City limits at Coolidge and West roads to Abbot Road. Leaves need to be raked to the curb by 7 a.m. on the Mondays of collection weeks to ensure collection.
Residents are reminded that leaves should be raked to the curb or edge of the road (above the curb or on the grass when a curb is not present) and not into the roadway. When leaves are raked into the roadway, drainage structures can become clogged and cause roadway flooding.
