EAST LANSING, Mich. — In an effort to assist businesses that are continuing to suffer financial hardships due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the East Lansing City Council approved a resolution during its virtual meeting on Thursday, April 27 to amend the City of East Lansing budget to waive business license and entertainment license fees in Fiscal Year 2021.
Business license and entertainment fees were also waived in Fiscal Year 2020 to assist businesses at the start of the pandemic.
While these license fees have been eliminated, business owners that maintain business and/or entertainment licenses are reminded that they are still required to submit a renewal application. The East Lansing City Clerk’s office is preparing to mail renewal applications to businesses in early May and applications must be submitted to the City Clerk’s office by June 30. Applications can be returned by mail, email or fax:
