EAST LANSING, Mich. — Community members are advised that there will be two road closures in East Lansing beginning Monday, May 3 to accommodate construction work. Additional details are provided below:
Abbot Road Closure
A section of Abbot Road, between Albert Avenue and Elizabeth Street, will be closed for approximately two weeks as a part of the Evergreen Utility Improvement Project. During this time, construction crews will tie in a combined sewer that is located on the east side of Abbot Road. Construction crews will also be resurfacing Abbot Road, from just north of the East Lansing City Hall parking lot entrance to Albert Avenue.
There will be posted detours in the construction area during the road closure. The detour for southbound Abbot Road traffic will be Burcham Drive to M.A.C. Avenue to Albert Avenue to Abbot Road and the detour for northbound Abbot Road traffic will be Albert Avenue to M.A.C. Avenue to Burcham Drive to Abbot Road.
Intersection of Charles Street and Beech Street Closure
The intersection of Charles Street and Beech Street will be closed for approximately a week to perform an emergency sewer main repair. Letters will be delivered to property owners who will be affected by this construction work.
