EAST LANSING, Mich. — Due to the rise in COVID-19 cases, the East Lansing 54B District Court has been approved to return to phase one of the State Court Administrative Office’s four-phase system for court operations. This means the court is closed to the public until further notice.
The court will use remote technology to the greatest extent possible. All out-of-custody matters are adjourned, except in cases where a constitutional right has not been waived. Additionally, jury trials are suspended to avoid a health risk to the public.
The court encourages users to take advantage of its online services, including its Virtual Counter services to access staff. Individuals with outstanding warrants are encouraged to the contact the court through the Virtual Counter.
