EAST LANSING, Mich. — The East Lansing Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is excited to sponsor a photo contest leading up to Mother’s Day, titled “You Are Special to Me,” to recognize and celebrate mothers and caregivers. 

Community members can participate by submitting a digital photo of their mother or caregiver in downtown East Lansing along with a short narrative (30 words or less) about why that person is special to them. Contest prizes will include the following:

• 1^st Place - $100 Downtown East Lansing eGift Card
  
  
• 2^nd Place - $75 Downtown East Lansing eGift Card
  
  
• 3^rd Place - $50 Downtown East Lansing eGift Card

All photos must include a downtown landmark, downtown business or “Day Time. Nighttime. Anytime.” Place Project event (preference will be given to photos featuring businesses). The deadline to submit photos is April 26, 2021. Photos can be submitted at www.cityofeastlansing.com/YouAreSpecialToMe.

Winners of the photo contest will be announced the week before Mother’s Day, so that the gift cards can be distributed to winners prior to the holiday. Winners are encouraged to use their prizes to treat their mother or caregiver to a gift and/or a meal purchased from a downtown East Lansing business.
