EAST LANSING, Mich. — A suspect in a homicide that took place in the City of East Lansing in December 2010 has been arrested by the East Lansing Police Department (ELPD) and was arraigned today, April 24 in the East Lansing 54B District Court.
Montrell Darshawn Morgan, a 22-year-old from Lansing, was arraigned on the following charges:
- 1 count of open murder
- 2 counts of assault with intent to commit murder
- 1 count felony firearm
- 1 count carrying a concealed weapon
Morgan was arrested in connection with a homicide that occurred during the early morning hours of December 11, 2010. On that morning, reports came in of gunshots fired at 3636 Coleman Road in Bath Township. ELPD units were traveling to Bath Township to assist officers in that jurisdiction when they discovered a vehicle in the 1600 block of Abbot Road. Officers observed people running from the car and discovered Adrian House, a 20-year-old from Detroit, inside the vehicle. House was found deceased with a fatal gunshot wound. Witnesses said other vehicles, including the one the victim was in, were involved in a confrontation on the roadway and that multiple gunshots were heard.
Morgan is being held at the Ingham County Jail on no bond.
