[ARCHIVED] City of East Lansing Holiday Closures & Collections

EAST LANSING, Mich. — A number of City of East Lansing offices will be closed in observance of the upcoming Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

City Hall, DPW, ELPL and 54B District Court
 
East Lansing City Hall, the East Lansing Department of Public Works, the East Lansing Public Library and the East Lansing 54B District Court will be closed* Thursday, Dec. 24; Friday, Dec. 25; Thursday, Dec. 31 and Friday, Jan. 1.

Due to the holiday closures, Friday’s refuse and recycling will be collected on the following Monday. Collection days will be Monday, Dec. 28 and Monday, Jan. 4. Refuse and recycling on Thursday, Dec. 24 and Thursday, Dec. 31 will be collected as normal.

*Please note that City buildings listed above are expected to be closed for in-person transactions until further notice due to COVID-19, with a re-opening expected in mid-January at the earliest. Essential staff are continuing to report to work and non-essential staff are working from home where possible and remain available through remote options on non-holiday workdays. Please note that during the holiday closures listed above, non-essential staff will be unavailable via remote options.

East Lansing Hannah Community Center
The East Lansing Hannah Community Center (ELHCC) will be closed Thursday, Dec. 24; Friday, Dec. 25; Saturday, Dec. 26; Thursday, Dec. 31, Friday, Jan. 1; and Saturday, Jan. 2. ELHCC will also have adjusted hours on Wednesday, Dec. 23 from 6 a.m.- 5 p.m.

Free Holiday Parking in Downtown East Lansing
There will be free holiday parking in downtown East Lansing Dec. 24-25, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.
