EAST LANSING, Mich. — The East Lansing Arts Commission is currently accepting a second round of applications for its Fiscal Year 2021 (FY21) Cultural Arts Grant program.
The Cultural Arts Grant program supports high-quality public art projects that encourage artistic expression and public participation, with an emphasis on promoting cultural appreciation for Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) communities as well as the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersexual and Asexual (LGBTQIA+) community. The commission has up to $17,500 to allocate for FY21, with some funds already allocated as a part of the first round of grants. There is $8,697 currently available for round two of the grants and applications must be received by February 1, 2021 to be considered.
FY21 grant-funded projects and events must take place between November 1, 2020 and June 30, 2021.
Examples of programs that received grants last fiscal year include the Concerto for Audience ($1,100), Brothers in Story and Song ($300), Community Dark Room 517 ($704) and Vivek Vellanki – Passport Photo Project ($1,050).
