East Lansing residents are advised that the software system used to administer the City of East Lansing's water bills inadvertently duplicated the total current charges on the October 31, 2020 bill for those community members in cycle three of the City’s billing cycle (see map). This resulted in erroneous balances being shown.
If you received a bill from October 31, 2020, the current charges were doubled, creating an incorrect balance due. Adjustments were completed on November 9, 2020 in the system and balances due within the online portal are now accurate for those paying online or for those with automatic payment set up (the correct amount will be pulled from your account). If paying from the hard copy bill, follow the instructions on the insert that was included with your bill to calculate the correct amount due. Due to the delay and inconvenience, the payment due date for this bill has been extended to November 30, 2020. Any unpaid balance will be assessed penalties on December 1, 2020. If you need assistance determining the amount due, please call (517) 319-6890.
