EAST LANSING, Mich. — East Lansing residents are advised that the City of East Lansing’s drop-off recycling site, 1800 E. State Road, is slated to re-open to the public tomorrow, July 15 at 10 a.m.
In preparation for the re-opening, the containers at the site will be spaced apart to provide for safe physical distancing, and, for the first few days, City personnel will be onsite during business hours to assist with traffic flow and material management. All users of the site are asked to follow traffic flow signs and are required to wear a mask and maintain at least six feet of physical distance from others.
Items that can be recycled at the site include plastics #1-2 and #4-7, aerosol cans, aluminum cans/foil, boxboard, brown paper bags, bulbs, corrugated cardboard, glass bottles/jars (clear, brown, green), mixed paper, magazines and catalogs (glossy), newspapers and inserts, phone books, polystyrene #6 (Styrofoam) and tin/steel cans. All items should be empty and rinsed.
The drop-off recycling site will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Community members with questions can call the East Lansing Department of Public Works at (517) 337-9459.
