EAST LANSING, Mich. – The East Lansing Public Library will host its annual fundraising event; Books, Bites, and Bids; on Friday, April 17 from 5:30-9 p.m. with a presentation at 6:30 p.m.
Each year the library hosts this premier event to celebrate the successes of the library with the community, while raising money for a new project. Guests will enjoy fabulous food and beer/wine in the stacks, family activities and a silent auction featuring donations from local businesses, hotels and restaurants.
“Books, Bites, and Bids is one of ELPL’s favorite events of the year because the whole community comes together to support the library, while enjoying great food, drinks, music and more. Attendees can plan to bid on some incredible baskets, including items such as Leelanau Peninsula Wine Tours, Passes to Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, Passes to Henry Ford/Greenfield Village, Lugnuts Tickets and more,” said ELPL Community Development Specialist Phyllis Thode. “This year, we have more than 100 different donors, including many donating for the first time, which is truly amazing!”
Guests can register online at http://bit.ly/ELPLBBB2020, with a suggested donation of $35 per person or $70 per couple/family. Donations can be made prior to the event online, at the library’s Service Desk or by calling (517) 351-2420. Donations are also accepted at the door on the night of the event. All proceeds raised at the event this year will go towards the continued development of an interactive children’s garden.
