EAST LANSING, Mich. — Tickets are now available for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commission of Mid-Michigan’s 35th Annual MLK Holiday Luncheon, which will take place on Monday, Jan. 20 at 11 a.m. at the Lansing Center, 333 E. Michigan Ave.
Tickets can be purchased at both the East Lansing Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbot Road, and Lansing City Hall, 124 W. Michigan Ave. Tickets are $50 per person or $400 for a table of eight.
The theme for the 2020 luncheon is: “There Comes A Time When Silence is Betrayal.” In addition to celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. King, the 2020 luncheon will also commemorate the 55th anniversary of the Selma, Ala. marches. Congressman John Lewis, often called “one of the most courageous persons the Civil Rights Movement ever produced,” will serve as the keynote speaker for the 2020 luncheon. Congressman Lewis was one of the leaders of the Selma marches, including the march on Bloody Sunday.
