[ARCHIVED] Downtown East Lansing Toys for Tots Campaign Currently Underway

EAST LANSING, Mich. — Community members are invited to give back this holiday season by participating in downtown East Lansing’s Toys for Tots campaign.

Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve, which serves to distribute toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for the holidays.

Community members can donate new, unwrapped toys at a number of participating downtown East Lansing businesses through Dec. 7. A list of participating businesses can be found here: https://cityofeastlansing.com/1920/Toys-for-Tots. Food items and toys that look like realistic weapons will not be accepted.

This year’s Toys for Tots collection is sponsored and hosted by the East Lansing Downtown Management Board and Newman Lofts. Additionally, Newman Lofts is sponsoring a special event during the 2019 Winter Glow, taking place on Saturday, Dec.7. Courtesy of Newman Lofts, families will receive one free photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Photos will take place inside the East Lansing Marriott lobby, 300 M.A.C. Ave., from 3-6 p.m. Additional photos can be purchased for $5.
