Saturday, Feb. 18 - It's Cool To Be Kind
Nationally acclaimed recording artist, Gincy, sings original songs with meaningful and inspiring lyrics about kindness, respect, believing in yourself and working together to help make the community the best it can be. These songs are set to pop, rock and R&B beats that inspire dancing and singing along.
Saturday, Feb. 25 - African Drumming
Kefentse Chike is a native Detroiter who has studied, taught and performed African drum music and presentation for 40 years. He has studied with master musicians from Africa, the African diaspora and throughout the United States. Kefentse’s studies and performances have taken him to Africa, South America, the Caribbean and throughout the United States.
Saturday, March 4 - Let's Be Inclusive
Joe Reilly’s program, titled “Let’s Be Inclusive,” is comprised of original songs that celebrate diversity in its many forms. His goal is to motivate children as a community to celebrate diversity and encourage empathy. Reilly's warm personality and playful singing style helps add to the joyful and positive tone of this presentation. Some of the main themes highlighted in his performance are empathy, tolerance and the importance of diversity. Prior to the March 4 concert, community members are invited to attend a special story time, hosted by the East Lansing Public Library, at 10 a.m. at the East Lansing Hannah Community Center. This program is also free.
