Kids Camp

Kids Camp is offered through the East Lansing Department of Parks, Recreation & Arts each summer. This popular summer camp features a different weekly theme and a number of activities, including arts and crafts, outdoor games/activities and more.

Parents can enjoy the flexibility of signing their child up for a couple of weeks or for the entire summer. Parents have the option of choosing which days they would like their child to attend with a minimum of three days per week. Kids Camp is not offered on holidays.

2023 Camp Reservations

Registration for Summer Camp 2023 is full. Please email Julie Anne Jennings at jjennings@cityofeastlansing.com if you would like to be added to the wait list. 

The first day of camp will be Monday, June 12.

Newsletters

A weekly newsletter to keep parents and families informed on what their child will be experiencing will be emailed the Wednesday prior to the week of care at camp.

*Kids camp hours are from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Extended care is available from 7:30-9:30 a.m. and 3:30-5:30 p.m.; Mondays-Thursdays.

Ratio of Caregivers to Children

The program adheres to the 1:10 state licensing ratio, including at least one staff member that has their current certification in CPR and First Aid. All staff members are required to obtain at least 16 hours of training related to school-age children. Program supervisors have had at least twelve semester hours of college credits in a child-related field. Most child care aides currently attend college and are pursuing degrees in education, child development or nursing.
