The City of East Lansing Downtown Development Authority (DDA) has updated its Urban Design Guidelines for downtown East Lansing. The document is intended to guide decisions about design elements in downtown East Lansing, including decorative paving, site amenities and the addition of public art throughout the downtown.
Design elements help express the character of the downtown and make it a welcoming and attractive place to visit. With new development on the horizon and the current Comprehensive Plan Update underway, the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) will refer to this document when making decisions on downtown design.
This project was funded in part by a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Sustainable Communities program to the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission as part of the Mid-Michigan Program for Greater Sustainability. The Community Reinvestment Fund is one of nine projects funded under the Mid-Michigan Program for Greater Sustainability and is administered by the Mid-Michigan Environmental Action Council.
