Registering Bicycles in East Lansing
Bicycle registration is required in East Lansing. Registering your bike provides law enforcement with a tracking tool in the event that your bike is stolen. Bicycles can be registered at no charge at the East Lansing Police Department, 409 Park Lane 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please bring the make, model and serial number for the bike along with a pictured ID. After completing a short form, a sticker will be issued for the registered bike. Bicycles on Campus
In addition, Michigan State University requires that bicycles bear a current and valid license or permit issued by the Michigan State University Department of Police and Public Safety, the City of Lansing, the City of East Lansing, Lansing Township or Meridian Township. Bicycles that are not properly registered run the risk of being impounded on campus
