Books & Magazines

books
There are a couple of different recycling options for hardcover books, paperback books, magazines and phone books.

East Lansing Public Library

The Friends of the East Lansing Public Library accept donations of books and magazines for their on-going used book and magazine sale. The Friends accept hardcover and paperback books (except National Geographic) that are in good condition. Donations can be dropped off at the East Lansing Public Library, 950 Abbot Road. The donation is tax deductible and all proceeds go to funding programs and services at the library. For more information, call the circulation desk at (517) 351-2420.

Michigan State University Surplus Store

The MSU Recycling Drop-Off site accepts hard cover and paperback books. Books that are dropped off are evaluated and those with resale value are sold at the MSU Surplus Store. Book sales help support MSU recycling programs. Books which cannot be sold are either donated or recycled. Learn more.
