Youth Commission

The Youth Commission is organized to engage the youth of the City of East Lansing by actively involving them in the functions of City government, schools and libraries. The Youth Commission acts as an advisory board to the City Council to conduct research and make recommendations directly to the Council in an advisory capacity as to those matters pertaining to the activities or needs of the youth in the City of East Lansing. Agendas are available prior to the meetings. Minutes are available following approval. Meetings will be held monthly once the commission is appointed.

The Youth Commission will select nine members to serve one-year terms. Members must be between the ages of 14 and 18 years old and either a resident of the City of East Lansing or a student at an East Lansing school. Applicants must have the permission of a parent or guardian.
