The Planning, Building & Development Department is responsible for planning and zoning, community and economic development, building permits and inspections, rental licensing and investigations, code enforcement (building, zoning) and historic preservation. The department also assists with university relations and community outreach.

Historic Boundary Study Committee


A Historic Boundary Study Committee was created in 2013 to determine whether the existing boundaries of the Oakwood Historic District should be modified as a result of changing conditions. The committee has completed the Oakwood Historic District Boundary Study Preliminary Report (PDF). This report is currently in a 60-day review period, which will be followed by a public hearing.
