The East Lansing Farmers Market (ELFM) will host several special events and activities throughout the 2023 season. Check out the event schedule below and plan your next visit to the ELFM! - Power of Produce Club: This club looks to transform kids into market participants with educational activities, demonstrations, interactions with their local food growers and challenges to try fresh market produce. It will occur throughout the season. Sponsored by McLaren Health Plan and the East Lansing Parks, Recreation & Arts Before and After School Program.
- Opening Day: The first 100 guests at the ELFM will receive a reusable ELFM tote. There will also be family activities and live music.
- Juneteenth Celebration: This special, free event will feature a variety of games and activities as well as live music sponsored by the Summer Solstice Jazz Festival. All community members are invited to attend this special event in celebration of Juneteenth. People can sign up to volunteer here . The event flyer and march route can be found here .
- Community Fingerprint Project: This fun community art activity that Market attendees can participate in is built on the concept of identity where market goers can add small phrases that represent their identity or inspirational quotes. The final project will be placed on the second floor of the East Lansing Hannah Community Center where anyone can come see it. Project sponsored by the East Lansing Arts Commission.
- Parks, Recreation and Arts Day: Community members are invited to stop by the market on July 16 to celebrate Parks and Recreation Month with the East Lansing Department of Parks, Recreation & Arts.
- Spartan Appreciation: The first 100 college students to stop by the information booth during Spartan Appreciation Day will receive a free market tote! There will be yoga at 11 a.m. with Sara Joy Yoga. Come explore, engage and enjoy the market! All are welcome!
- Autumn Fest: Celebrate the splendor of fall at the market! Activities include yard games, a petting zoo and pony rides.
