The Election Commission consists of the City Clerk, Mayor and City Attorney, with the City Clerk serving as the chairperson. The commission is in charge of all activities and duties relating to the conduct of elections in the City. Additionally, in any case where election procedure is in doubt, the election commission creates a procedure to be followed.

Pursuant to Executive Orders 2020-33 and 2020-75 from the Governor of the State of Michigan, the special meeting of the East Lansing Election Commission to be held on Thursday, May 14, 2020 will be held electronically due to the presence of the coronavirus in the community. The purpose of the meeting is to consider the items on the agenda.

The meeting is available to the public for viewing online at https://cityofeastlansing.civicweb.net/Portal/ with closed captioning.
