The Age-Friendly Community Committee was formed to continue the City of East Lansing's work to achieve an Age-Friendly Community designation, as recognized by the World Health Organization. The committee, along with several subcommittees, meet regularly to assess, plan and implement the process for becoming the fifth city in Michigan to achieve this designation.
Meetings are held the third Thursday of the month; 8:30 a.m.
East Lansing Hannah Community Center
819 Abbot Road

Eight subcommittees have been created, each taking on one of the AARP Network of Age-Friendly Communities' eight domains of livability. The subcommittee members, consisting of community volunteers and City staff, are working to identify goals and objectives for their respective domain that can be undertaken and implemented as part of the Age-Friendly Community Committee's Action Plan.
