Age-Friendly Community Committee

The City of East Lansing was designated as an Age-Friendly Community in 2017 and the Age-Friendly Community Committee was formed shortly after. Since its formation, the committee members have met monthly to develop and finalize the 2020 Age-Friendly Action Plan document. The Age-Friendly Action Plan identifies goals and objectives for eight identified domains of livability: 

  1. Housing
  2. Transportation
  3. Communications/Information
  4. Social Participation 
  5. Respect and Social Inclusion
  6. Community Support and Health Services
  7. Outdoor Spaces and Buildings
  8. Civic Participation and Employment

  • Meetings are held the third Thursday every other month @ 8:30 a.m.
