Kids Camp is offered through the East Lansing Department of Parks, Recreation & Arts each summer. This popular summer camp features a different weekly theme and a number of activities, including swimming, field trips, walks to MSU/East Lansing Public Library, art and crafts and outdoor games/activities. June 15-Aug. 31; 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
*Extended care is available from 7:30-9 a.m. and 4-5:30 p.m.
Kids Camp registration begins Friday, April 1. To enroll, please return the Kids Camp Registration Form and deposit to the East Lansing Hannah Community Center front desk, 819 Abbot Road. Parents can enjoy the flexibility of signing their child up for a couple of weeks or for the entire summer. Parents have the option of choosing which days they would like their child to attend with a minimum of two days per week. Child care is not offered on holidays.
Ratio of Caregivers to Children
The program adheres to the 1:10 state licensing ratio, including at least one staff member that has their current certification in CPR and First Aid. All staff members are required to obtain at least 16 hours of training related to school-age children. Program supervisors have had at least twelve semester hours of college credits in a child-related field. Most child care aides currently attend college and are pursuing degrees in education, child development or nursing.
