Commercial Motor Carrier Enforcement

The Commercial Motor Carrier Officer position enforces all commercial traffic laws, including weight and size violations, taxi laws, vehicle-for-hire laws and other local ordinances. The officer also provides free educational classes to the public in the areas of commercial traffic law.

The Motor Carrier Officer has USDOT certification, which requires the completion of a two-week USDOT Federal Motor Carrier Officer course. Other officers in the department have received basic training on commercial motor vehicle enforcement. Truck drivers can access a map (PDF) to determine how each county road is classified.

2015 Seasonal Road Weight Restrictions
